Sponsor an
IDEA Seminar!
Sponsoring
an IDEA seminar can be profitable and a lot of fun! You get to organize,
plan, and market the seminar to your friends, family, and business
associates and reap the benefits. As a sponsor, you get to take
the skillshop or training program for free and make money at the
same time!
6 -12 Months Ahead...
Select Program and Dates
Select the skillshop or training program you think would be most
popular with the people you have in mind. See the enclosed skillshop
and training program list. Contact IDEA Seminars to select available
dates. IDEA Seminars will hold tentative dates for a period of 14
days before releasing those dates. For certification programs, we
recommend planning 6 months to a year in advance.
Determine Seminar Size
For the best results, the minimum size for training programs is
10 participants, and 20 for skillshops. If the class is larger than
50 another instructor is needed depending on the material being
presented. Contact IDEA Seminars for more information.
Sign Agreement and Send Deposit
Send a signed copy of the sponsorship agreement and mail deposit.
Send a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the estimated total fee.
IDEA Seminars will NOT hold any dates until the deposit is received.
After IDEA Seminars receives the agreement and the deposit, you
may begin to enroll participants. We will also begin to promote
your seminar on our web site and in our mailings. (Note: The deposit
is non-refundable because IDEA Seminars must turn away other business
as soon as we secure the dates for you.)
Reserve Seminar Facilities and Accommodations
Reserve seminar room space and sleeping rooms for yourself and the
trainer/s. "Block" sleeping rooms for the students as
well. Most hotels will give you a discount on the seminar room if
a number of your participants stay in the sleeping rooms. Be sure
to negotiate terms. Location needs to be convenient for your participants
and/or an attractive resort/vacation destination.
Promote the Course
This is the most important step. The more people you enroll,
the more money you will make and the more successful the course
will be. Print brochures, create a web site and/or place ads. IDEA
Seminars will help you create these if you need help by giving you
samples or ad copy. All advertisements and brochures and mailers
must be approved by IDEA Seminars before release.
Mailing and advertising can be effective in the long run, but
do not rely on it for your first seminar. Mail to only those people
whom you can follow up with a phone call.
One of the best ways to fill your seminar is through personal contact
with people whom you already have a strong rapport, like business
associates, friends, and family.
The absolute most effective way to overflow a skillshop is with
FREE publicity in the form of radio shows, local TV and printed
stories in magazines, or newspapers. IDEA Seminars must approve
of any press releases that you mail to these media sources. Media
contact lists can be found at your local library. Rex Steven Sikes
is available for interviews over the telephone if unavailable in
person.
